You see, many teachers had trouble saving up for the summer months of no pay, so by doing a smaller check every 4 weeks, they were able to make sure we didn’t have those down periods. This reduced the number of long term, more expensive teachers wanting to teach summer school. This saved a lot of money. They eventually changed it to 12 checks, one on the 30th of every month (the 28th of February). This gave us more money each month, and no month with 2 checks.
