Their response was to do nothing. I mean, literally, they simply didn’t acknowledge it. They wouldn’t come and pick him up from school, and it wasn’t in a location where he could reasonably walk home safely (only a few miles, but very few sidewalks at that time, and being northern Ohio, pretty cold and snowy weather much of the school year).
