I managed to never see my high school guidance counselor for more than two minutes at a time, but had to share this story, told to me by a good guidance counselor. She worked at a school in a conservative, traditionally blue collar area… traditionally meaning a lot had changed in terms of industry and lots of families were struggling to make ends meet. Unemployment, addiction, and even homelessness were potential issues for these students.
