One of them stayed in school through 4th grade, and asked to be homeschooled. The other made it through first grade, but was asking to be homeschooled after the winter break. His father insisted that he finish out the year, certain that he would come to love it eventually. He didn’t, and he got more “mental health afternoons” than his brother ever did. He was so relieved when we okayed homeschool at the end of first grade!
