As my car chugged and plugged along, warning bells and whistles started coming on. Karen and I were praying like crazy that we would make it off that highway. If we could at least make it to a pull out or rest stop of some sort to get out of the way of traffic. Even though there was two lanes heading up, we had 18 wheelers blowing their air horns at us and whipping out around us in disgust. We could imagine the words that were being spoken and the hand gestures that accompanied those words. We didn't even look anymore, we just stared straight ahead, looking earnestly for somewhere to pull over.
